Frequently Asked Questions

Which door do I come in?

If you are parked in the parking lot, walk through the main entrance at the top of the parking lot. Immediately inside the door you will be greeted by one of the designated greeters who can assist you in finding a Sunday School class or the sanctuary.

How do I get to the sanctuary?

From the parking lot entrance, take the stairs up to the first floor and turn left. You are now in the sanctuary!

What time are the worship services?

Worship on Sunday morning begins at 9:30 AM in the sanctuary (on the first floor).

How do I find a Sunday School class?

When you enter the church, ask a greeter to help you. We will be glad to show you to a class! There are Sunday School classes for all ages.  You’re sure to find a class that’s right for you.

What should I expect in worship?

Friendly faces and a God-seeking community are the hallmarks of our worship together. The order of worship will be printed in the bulletin and also on the screen. There will be times of greeting, singing, praying, scripture reading, sermon, and offering God our gifts.
During the opening, we ask that you sign the fellowship pad located at the end of each pew with your name and address so we can better welcome you to our community. We will take an offering, which is a time for members of our church family to contribute their financial gifts; as our guest, please don’t feel obligated to join in this part of the service. We’re just happy to have you!

What should I wear?

Crossroads is a church for all God’s people.  You should wear the type of clothing you are most comfortable in.  The people who attend this church dress in everything from t-shirts, jeans (or shorts) and tennis shoes to suits and dresses.

 What will my children do?

Children are welcome in the worship service, and there is a special time in during the service just for them. After the children’s time, the children, infant through kindergarten, are welcome to go to the nursery.  They are also welcome to stay in the sanctuary if they like!

What if I have special needs?

From the parking lot, if you are in a wheelchair, you have two options. You can enter through the main door and ask to use the chair lift. This chair lift goes both to the basement (Fellowship Hall) or to the sanctuary. At the back of the church you will find a ramp which will lead you to the sanctuary. There are handicapped-accessible restrooms on the main floor.

Large print bulletins and hymnals are available; please ask a greeter or an usher to assist you.

Can I participate in communion?

Yes.  Communion is served once a month, usually on the first Sunday. Everyone is welcome to receive communion (also called the Eucharist or the Lord’s Table). You don’t have to be a member of this church—or of any church. All you need to participate is a heart open to God. God’s grace is available to all, regardless of age, race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, or church membership.

How can I join your church?

Speak to the Pastor.  New Member Classes are offered several times a year. If you have never been baptized you will be at the time you take membership. Baptism is a sign you are a member of the universal church—the Body of Christ! If you have previously been baptized (whether as an infant or an adult, in the United Methodist Church or in any other denomination), you can transfer your church membership to this congregation. Watch the weekly bulletin for New Member Class times and information.
