Missions and Outreach

The mission of Crossroads is

to love God, to love others, and to share Christ with the world

 Stinger Bags

This is our newest ministry.  We have  partnered with Waverly Elementary to help make sure no child goes hungry during the weekend.  Currently we provide 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 snacks every week. We also provided meals during the summer.  You have a chance to help change the lives of children who might otherwise go hungry. If interested in helping with this ministry call or email the church and we will get you in contact with the leaders of this ministry.

Kairos Prison Ministry:

The Kairos Prison Ministry is based on the Biblical scripture “I was in prison and you visited me,” (Matthew 25:36). Kairos is an interdenominational Christian organization led by laypersons.  The ministry is designed to show God’s unconditional love to men and women who have never experienced any form of God’s love in their lives.

Individuals are introduced to the Kairos Community by participating in a four day event called a “Weekend.”  The “Weekend” event is an intense experience filled with Christ’s love that becomes overwhelming.

Dozens of cookies are consumed by everyone at the institution throughout the weekend. Kairos cookies are symbolic in this ministry as a sign of agape love and are shared generously (see Kairos Cookie Recipes link).  A prayer vigil with world wide participation covers each weekend.  And much more…
If you would like to learn more about this ministry, or share your talents, especially at the St. Marys Correctional Center send us an email at Crossroads UMC . For additional information, contact Gary Loughner or Joe Heilman through the Crossroads United Methodist Church.
